Our family tradition is that our entire family gathers together at grandpa and grandma's house, we have dinner and then the family gathers in the living room and the grandpa reads the story of the birth of Jesus from St Luke chapter 2. we all take about this and why we are grateful for the things we have been gives. then one of the boys reads The night before Christmas and then we all go home. I love trhis traditin because it helps us remember the true spirit of Christmas, as well as keeps our family close together.

My favorite Christmas tradition is that we make a birthday cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday! It really focuses on the reason for the season and puts it in a context that my young children understand. Also, as they are older we can reinforce the idea that even though it is Jesus' birthday, we are the ones blessed with the precious gift.
Merry Christmas!!!!

our favorite holiday tradition is baking, many cookies with those cut outs as hoping we can always tell out of the oven what the shape looks likes or is supposed to look like(LOL)
and colored sugar on top, perinals and sprinkles galore. pure yum and of coarse, always going to church is one of our biggest traditions also, cuz that is the reason for the season!!!!

My favorite tradition comes from my husband's side of the family. Every Christmas Eve, everyone gets to open just one present from under the tree. Each member of the family opens their one gift and what we find is fun Christmas pajamas to wear for Christmas Day. After all the presents are open, we all rush to change into our pajamas and then we gather around and sing Christmas carols and get ready for Santa. The whole family gets in on it and we have a great time. The next morning, we are still in our pajamas opening the rest of our presents. I love this tradition because it brings our family together on Christmas Eve. After all the hustle and bustle of the holiday activities, it is nice to have family members having a good time together.

My fave tradition is eating Grandma's split pea soup on Christmas Eve. Many years ago, we would have a huge meal - roast with all the sides & fixins. The grandkids would race through the dinner, since no presents until after dishes were done. Grandma realized no one NEEDED the huge meal, so we moved to soup and small appetizers. Easy peasy all the way around!

We put Christmas songs on the CD player, get the decorations out of boxes, and hang the ornaments on the tree. We did it with our daughters and now with our g'son. Fun.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is exchanging ornaments with my husband (and now our daughter). I love remembering why we picked those ornaments each year when we decorate the tree. And I love knowing that my daughter will have her own ornaments when she leaves our home and won't have to start from scratch.

I also joined the Ella email list. Although it was a while ago, so I'm not sure if it still counts.
