Hello! I hope this week is treating you well. I have been immersing myself in domestic life these days taking care of Travis and the boys, making sure the house is kept nice & tidy, and trying to manage our day to day life. All the hard work paid off in dividends last weekend when we were all home and there were no chores to be done. It was a great weekend just being together.
It is so interesting seeing these earlier weeks before Travis joined us. I can barely remember life without him, SO happy to have captured the months of just being 4 now that we are 5. Our life has changed so much.
The addition of this large picture was inspired by Kelly Purkey, Elise Blaha and Ali Edwards. Somehow I trimmed it down too short so I just added a bit of patterned paper on the top and tied in the journaling tag below. A happy accident.
Sometimes all you need is a small little punch of color to make the kit your own. Here I simply colored in "Remember" with a colored pencil.
Or all you have to do is add a title with letter stickers to personalize a grid journaling card.
Or all you need is a little strip of Washi tape to add a punch of color to a grid journaling card.
A big time saver for me is using the journaling cards that came in my kits as backdrops for my Instagram pictures. Just enough peeks out behind the pictures for me to feel like they are jazzed up a bit without me doing anything extra.
A stash buster for me is using my scraps in the 4x6 slots. I love doing this but not all paper lends itself to journaling. So, to add bits I stamped a journaling spot on cardstock and layered them on top.
I love adding blog posts to Project Life. I keep it fairly simply and usually start with a 6x12 page protector. In this case I trimmed it down a little bit since I didn't need the full 6x12 for my journaling.
Here's what I love about Project Life, there are no rules. The large picture I added this week was actually a really old picture but I happened to be working with it this week so in it went. Love it.
One of my girlfriends turned a digital Project Life card into a studio file to create this great embellishment. So much fun.
Another fun scrap put to good use. This one really lent itself to two Instagram pictures.
I hope these little tips and tricks give you a bit of insight into my process. I am learning quickly that in order for me to re-insert Project Life into my weekly routine I'm going to have to find lots of tricks to keep things simple and fast while still keeping my style.
In case you were wondering here is where I'm at right now:
Blogged: Weeks 1-5, 7-9
Completed: Weeks 6, 10-11, 13 & 15
Journaling: Weeks 12 & 14
Print Pictures: Weeks 16-18
If you're keeping track not much progress has been made and that's OK. Mr. Travis has decided to throw me a curve ball this week by switching up his routine. He's also having some tummy problems so there has been lots of extra snuggling. On my to-do list for next week is to finish out Week 12, which is only missing journaling on inserts, and printing pictures for Weeks 16-18. The good news is I have a firm plan for Week 17 (Week in the Life) all I have to do is execute!
This week I used the following Becky Higgins products:
Design A
Design G
6x12 Page Protector
Cobalt Edition
Clementine Edition

Other products pulled from my stash and used:
Basic Grey: Out of Print Letter Stickers, Yo Yos Fabric Stickers

I love your accident! That one large photo with the tag and the strip of paper is perfect! I need to find a pic to do this with.
