Five on Friday

It's been too long since I blogged & the best way to jump back in seems to be with random post. So here we go.

I will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion our friends showed us in the week following Dexter's death. I simply cannot express the impression this left on my heart. I am thinking of a sweet friend right now who is in need of the same love.

On Sunday we celebrated the risen Lord. I forgot to take a picture of us all dressed up but love this outtake of our family picture my Dad took during our annual egg hunt on Good Friday.

The passage read from Paul's chapter on the resurrection in his letter to the Corinthians on Easter Sunday has stayed with me all week. "Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58)

I keep thinking about how the resurrection of Jesus was a call to action for the people of God to get to work bringing his light to the world. I have been asking myself all week, how do I bring the kingdom of God to our daily life? How can I do more?

I keep hearing the whisper of "love one another as I have loved you." (John 13:34)

I was lucky enough to take Owen on an overnight visit to Kentucky to see my best friend last week. Owen's sitter was closed, I was going to be taking PTO & I desperately missed her. So on a whim we booked a flight. It was the best visit & I can't wait to see her again. This girl is more than a bestie, she is a sister to me.

We took a roadtrip with my parents to Texas A&M for the Spring Game. This was Garrett's first visit to Aggieland & Kyle Field. He loved it! During the game Mitch & Garrett texted who they thought would win, Maroon, and later received a reply that they were one of the 100 random fans who got to go home with a jersey from the game.

In the chaos, their jersey was given away but they got to go into the locker room with one of the players to get another. Garrett (and Mitch) were beaming when they came back!

Growing Boys

These guys are growing up way too fast. Today Owen is 11 months old & in a short month Garrett will finish Kindergarten. I'm not sure where the time has gone but I'm sitting alot more and just taking it all in.
