He had such an energy with him that has left an empty space in the house this afternoon. We are greiving deeply and will miss him dearly.
When Mitch & I were dating we invited Dexter to join our life and he spent 10 years as my husband's most fierce & loyal friend.This morning, I found some comfort revisiting the layouts that captured our life with him. I am thankful for these layouts & the details of his life I celebrated in the moment.
Saying goodbye to him was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
However, my heartache is nothing compared to my husbands. We have told Garrett that Dexter has a new home and have spared him the details. In the end, it is true. Dexter has a new home with the Lord where he can have a peaceful existence.
He will always live in our hearts. Goodbye bear dog.

Sorry for your loss, Monica. It might be for the best that you spared Garrett from the details. We lost one of our cats (suddenly, at a young age) and I miss her so much. The girls still cry for her. My youngest (7) was caught throwing pictures of her in the garbage, because she didn't want to see them because they reminder her of the cat and it was just too sad. Pets are apart of the family.
So sad for you guys, Mon. :(
We had to say good bye to our 18.5 year old cat last week. I blogged right away as well, and I found it helped the healing begin. I also put a LO together using CathyZ's freebie template that she posted last week, so we can remember what we were feeling.

So sorry for the passing of your four-legged family member!! It's so hard to say goodbye to them.

Oh I am so sorry - we have lost all three of our kitties in the last 2 years and it's been dreadful. Sending you all warm thoughts and prayers.
