Since I got married six years ago I have gained 40-50 lbs. This is way too much for my 5' 1'' frame. I've been on and off Weight Watchers so many times I've lost count. I'm tired of riding the roller coaster of losing weight and gaining more back.
Obviously, dieting doesn't work for me because I can't sustain it. So, I'm going to try to change my lifestyle and not focus on a number. I'm targeting two things:
1. Make better food choices by eating more fruits and vegetables.
2. Be active for 30 minutes a day.
Because I need accountability I am going to post here on Wednesday's how my week has gone and where I stand on the scale. Just because I'm not focusing on a number doesn't mean the number won't tell a story.
It's a little nerve racking to put my number out there but at this point I'm really not fooling anyone so I may as well own it.
Here I am six years ago at somewhere between 125-130 lbs.
Here is what 170 lbs at 5' 1'' looks like.
I'm really not being mean to myself I just need to snap out of my denial and start making changes one choice at a time. I appreciate you humoring me.
In a month, I'll post an updated picture collage and next Wednesday we'll see what the scale says.

I understand what you mean and believe you me, you can do it!! You have set realistic goals and your intentions. I am cheering you on from Florida!
I'm in the same boat right there chicka! I am at 253 5'3 and will be 32 in a few months- been dealing with this for at least 13+ yrs. I was 120 when i graduated high school, and started gaining after i moved in with my then boyfriend, turned husband turned ex...(i'm now remarried)I'm sick of it too! YOu are brave to put a number out there- i can't yet even tell my husband, let alone tell the world! Anyways, i'm going to do the same...and possibly blogging about it(www.landerson.typepad.com). Hang in there! Ps- If you need a buddy- i'm right there with ya!

You rock Monica! I am so proud of you for taking the initiative to get healthy!! Right before we got pregnant with the third baby I went on weight watchers and lost 8 lbs in one week! I was so excited. Then we got pregnant and I was so sick I couldn't keep up with the exercise. And so hungry I had to eat a lot! But at least I know there is hope after this baby is born that I will be able to get back down to my normal weight again!! I will be praying for you as you begin to make healthier choices!!
Take Care,
Kristie (Derek's wife)
