I choose not to fight.
For example, the socks Garrett chooses to wear with his uniform to school. When he asked me Thursday morning if he could wear his Halloween socks I thought, why not? If he has enough confidence and individuality to be different from the rest of the class who am I to squelch that spirit?
So, this is how G went to school. By the time I picked him up the socks had made their way to his ankles but he was still wearing them.
And then there are some battles I choose to fight once in a blue moon. I am not known for my success in the kitchen but every now & then I hit it out of the park. This Lime Blueberry Tiramisu was perfection!
I did make some substituions & alterations. Instead of mascarpone cheese I mixed with a mixer until fluffy 2 boxes of cream cheese with 1/2 stick butter (melted) and 1/2 cup whipping cream. I also used pound cake instead of lady fingers, doubled the confectioners' sugar and doubled the pie filling. It got great reviews from everyone.
I also made The Perfect Lemonade which everyone was fighting for seconds. I used 4 cups of water instead of 3 cups. I came across this recipe at the Work In Progress Kits Blog which highlights many other summer drinks I want to try.

I love your lighthouse glass! Your tiramisu sounds great too. I don't typically like it because I don't like coffee, but without coffee it sounds wonderful.
