I was chatting with a good friend and she mentioned that she was going to send a card a day to her Grandmother in December. I just loved this idea.
From this came my idea to not only send a card a day but give my Grandmother a place to keep them all together. I plan on mailing a tin with cards for December 1-4 and then every day after up until Christmas I will send a card.
After seeing Ali's post about all her Christmas offerings I went shopping last night at Designer Digitals to gather supplies for my Daily December Album & my Daily Cards.
This morning I woke up a little after 4AM and was overcome with creativity. I just had to get this done so you can imagine I was a crazed woman before work this morning. I think a blog post from Scott Adams that my husband shared with me explains it best.
So, I started with the 25 Days of December Photo Overlays at 331 brush size and got five on an 8.5x11 cardstock.
I picked five sheets of 12x12 patterned paper and cut them to 4x6.
I roughed up the edges of the cardstock with my Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser and mounted them on the patterned paper.
I then cut 4.5x6.5 pieces of cardstock to mount the patterned paper and inked the edges with black Staz On Ink.
I decided to use a tin that I've had in my stash for about 2 years to hold the cards. Painted it since it didn't fit the project. I used Mod Podge to seal it.
I used For the Love of Polka Paper: Holiday & Holiday Word Art to create a title for the tin. I roughed up the edges, inked them and then added a rub on for the year.
I used the December Daily Template Package to frame a picture of me & my Grandmother for the opener.
Then the cards start.
And here it is closed.
I know, I'm a woman obsessed but I had so much fun. Can't you tell by the destruction I left behind?

What a great idea for a present for your grandma!
Congrats on being n the new SS issue!
Great project idea. I love that you woke up at 4am and actually got up to create this. Your Grandma will appreciate this soooo much.
Since doing the 30 Days album. I wasn't up for doing Ali's Daily December. I also can't print at home or here in town, so I can only get prints 1-2 times a month in the city. Anyway....I took the cards that came in my Becky Higgins Holiday Card Kit and hole punched them and I am jsut journalling what Christmas-sy thing we are doing each day. And if we don't do anything somedays then I won't fill in a card, if I don't want to.

Monica,
I LOVE it when you share your amazing ideas with me!
I also love to know that there are other women who wake up at 4:00 a.m and must get up and create.
