Wednesday Weigh In

Beginning: 170.1
Prior:163
Current:163
Gain/(Loss): (0)
Total Gain/(Loss): (7.1)

I am officially not making any progress. I have done a good job of eating only when I'm hungry but that is just not enough. I'm afraid my age is catching up with me and I can't just cut back calories and lose weight.

I still post my progress or lack thereof because this is still important to me. Now I need to put these words into action.

hey- don't beat yourself up :) Its hard. Tommorrow is a new day. How many times a day are you eating? Let me tell you- you are sposed to have 6 mini meals a day- did you know that? Believe me I want to hit my trainer when he gets after me for not eating enough- I say,if i'm not hungry why should I eat?! Well b/c when you start working out and dieting, your body goes into a starvation mode- so by eating more (smaller meals) its "going wait a minute-what the heck", and starts burning what you are feeding it- which is fuel. I've lost 11 lbs in 5 weeks, and some 8 in. over all-( started out at 251-eek!) mostly just from my cardio and weight lifting- I probably could have doubled that if I would have eaten more. Imagine that! LOL My advice would be to write down every single thing you put in your mouth and see how many calories you are actually consuming. Its amazing how fast it all adds up- or maybe you're not getting enough. Go for 1500-1600 a day and see where you're at. And hahaha- be honest :) Start tracking that for a week (i HATE doing it too but its a real eye opener!!). Start moving more- a good at home workout is either invest in a treadmill or elipitical (sp?)- or just a a simple workout dvd like Leslie sansone "walk away the pounds"-you can find it at target or her website. Anytime you need a buddy (again)-let me know :)

I too used to be able just to cut calories/food intake and lose weight and finally realized my body just doesn't work that way anymore. It was a sad realization! At any rate, I've figured out that only I can control my motivation to work out and so, slowly but surely, I'm getting back into decent cardiovascular shape. Good luck and keep at it. It will pay off! And, remember, the weight didn't go on in a day and it's not going to come off in a day, either.
