Loving This

There are some projects that I just LOVE and this is one of them. I submitted last night for the Photo Play Open Call and gave it to Garrett this morning. He was so excited that he wants to take it to Show & Tell on Friday.

Garrett is always talking about his name and what letter comes next. So, I decided to make him a book to help teach him how to spell his name.

This was such a simple project. I pulled pictures from my storage binders, used 3 sheets of 12x12, some cardstock, a few embellishments from a couple of lines, my trusty slick writer and PSE6 for the name blocks. My only difficulty was that the binding didn't stand up to my sanding of the edges so I pulled it apart and bound it with a ring instead. I kept the style basic because I really do want Garrett to focus on the pictures and the letters of his name.

In the circle it says "Hope this helps when you are trying to remember how to spell" The tracing on the right is something Garrett brought home from school a couple of months ago. I scanned it in and printed on photo paper.

The journaling reads "When you brought home your very first name tracing I was overwhelmed with pride! How is it that you are growing up so fast? You are so curious right now about spelling. I love your thirst for learning. Right now "spell Garrett" is something we hear alot. I had so much fun making this knowing you would love seeing all your letters."

This morning while walking I started my day with some Third Day and remembered how much I love this song. When I heard it came on I just got chills and had to listen to it about 5 times. Here is a video of clips set to Love Song by Third Day that I found on You Tube.
