I just love being a working mom (hint of sarcasm). So far this year, I've used all my time off on either sick days for Garrett or myself. OK, I'm done.
It was actually somewhat comical yesterday. I had noticed on Sunday that Garrett kept telling me his stomach hurt and his potty breaks were a bit suspicious. But because it was the Monday after a four day holiday I decided to send him to school with full disclosure regarding my suspicions.
I thought I was in the clear until I received a call late afternoon from the school that Garrett hadn't eaten his lunch and had an episode of full blown diarrhea. Imagine me, in all my professional glory, in a room with my colleagues who do not have children, having this conversation. At least, I was able to keep my responses non descript. However, when calling the pediatrician I was not so lucky.
I tried so hard to keep it vague but there comes a point where you just have to tell it like it is so the nurse can help. Normally we all try not to acknowledge that we can hear each other's conversations. But seriously, this conversation was too much! I ended up laughing while talking to the nurse because I heard my colleague laughing at my conversation.
Gotta love being a working mom :)
