Have I told you lately

how blessed I am?

The Lord has put the two best men in my life, well one big man and one little man.

Yesterday we were getting ready to go on a family walk and I mentioned that we would go on the "Ben path" because I was going to drop something off for his Mommy. Of course, Garrett wanted to know if he could go inside and play. That is when I had to explain to him that Ben was sick like Garrett was sick last week and so they couldn't play. After a little disappointment, he told me that he needed to take something to Ben so he would feel better.

So after about a 1/2 hour Garrett finished his drawing for Ben. Then he said he needed to cut it and tape it back together so he could decorate the drawing. Who am I to question his creative process?

I would like to think that we have something to do with Garrett's big heart but I really think it is just who he is. On a regular basis Garrett will do something where Mitch and I will discuss how kind, considerate and loving this little man of our is.

Also this week, I noticed that Mitch had the blog up on his computer at home.

Monica:Oh, you're reading the blog.

Mitch:Yes, I read it everyday.

Monica:Really? But you know all my stories.

Mitch: I like to see what you create and what you say. I'm a fan.

Monica: I think that is the sweetest thing you have ever said to me. (Big Kiss Followed)

For those of you with "brick&mortar" knowledge of me know that there is a reason I was nicknamed by my nun in the 1st grade Monica the Motormouth. So, imagine how much my husband must endure my chatting. And he still wants to hear what I have to say. I cannot begin to tell you how those 3 little words touched me.

I felt like a school girl again "He likes me, he really likes me." It's great to still feel that after 8 years together. I LOVE this man!!

Also this week, I've had the pleasure of being uplifted by my online crafting community I've found over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. The group of women that participate are so encouraging, fun, creative and just plain amazing. Not to mention the fantastic teachers and projects.

This week in Have More Fun our guest teacher is Kelli Crowe who just seems to be a delight. In her opening audio message she shares the story of a moment where in her bible study as an icebreaker they were asked if you could go forward or backward in time, where would you go? A friend's response changed her life and really resonated with me.

She said, paraphrased, "I would go back when my boys were 4 and 5 and Mom and Dad were their whole world. It was just the four of us in the house and everything we needed was right there. We didn't have to compete with friends or activities. We were just at home, hanging out. I would like to go back and savour that."

How powerful is that? And what is even cooler is I get exactly what she is saying. Even if this is all the Lord plans to give me in this life I am already so blessed.

Today I am greatful for my husband and my son.

Here is a little crafting goodness from this morning. When I saw our assignment I was inspired to create this. We were to journal around a picture, use scraps from our stash, use our punches and I think brads. Well, I skipped the brads part because I really don't have that many but tried to follow the rest. I used all Stampin Up papers for this.

The journaling reads: Garrett look at Mommy! We need to get a picture in this outfit. Oops! You fell over, hmm that is pretty cute. Garrett look at Mommy! I'll come get you as soon as I get this shot!

Have a wonderful weekend! I'm going to take the weekend off from blogging so I can get crafty and get some pictures printed.

So I found you via the Have More Fun class & I must say I was sucked into the blog-o-sphere reading your posts. You have a lovely blog and it is very inspiring. I appreciate your candid posts and great photos. Here I am, a complete stranger, and yet, I find myself drawn to your stories.

If you click to my blog, you will find a pathetic creature. My personal blog is private (although, if interested, I'd be willing to send you an invite) and my professional blog is: http://twowritingteachers.wordpress.com

Thanks for being brave and sharing your stories "without filters." So here's to new friends in the blog-o-sphere, maybe?

Happy Writing,
Ruth

Garrett was SO sweet to bring Ben the get well card!! He does have a big heart.

Ben came straight to show it to me and told me it was from "his friend Garrett."
