The Foundation for a Better Life

I'm sure you've seen the daily quotes on my sidebar but have you explored the website? Because I am a quote junkie, I love the quote database because you are able to search by author, word or value.

This week has me lost in my own thoughts. Yet, in the chaos of my mind the two things I keep coming back to are faith and hope. I've noticed, as I've gotten older due to both years and life experience, my prayers have changed. I used to pray for a certain outcome but I now find myself praying for strength, perspective and grace. So, when I came across these two quotes they hit a chord.

“Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.”
—Vaclav Havel (b. 1936), poet, playwright, 1st president of Czech Republic

I am discovering that my faith reveals itself greatest when I can't make sense of something. I believe that the Lord has his hand in my life and time will reveal his plan. In order to maintain this perspective it is extremely important for me to hold on tight to my gratitude for the blessings in my life. This is why I'm drawn to the next quote.

“We cannot wait for the storm to pass over - we must learn to dance in the rain.”
—Unknown

With that this week I am greatful for my faith which always brings me back, Mitch who has weathered many storms with me and Garrett who brings more joy to my life than I ever imagined possible.
