Scripture to Ponder

During my regular blog checks I came across the below on Happy Homes Ink, a fellow Library of Memories Classmates Blog.

2 Corinthians 12: 9 (NIV)

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Truly, how counter-cultural is this statement: to BOAST in our WEAKNESSES so that Christ's POWER may rest on ME? Sermon snippet from our Pastor this past Sunday.
Certainly, scripture to ponder.

How true is this?

One of my frequently used mantras, along the same lines, is "Let G0 and Let God". As a control freak, I struggle often, as I think we all do at some point, with remembering that until we give something truly to the Lord can he begin to help us. Please understand, that doesn't mean that my struggle always disappears or resolves itself in the manner I envisioned. Most times it seems the Lord gives me the strength through the Holy Spirit or through other Christians to simply carry my cross. Something that before I gave my struggle to the Lord wasn't possible. I digress.

The point I'm trying to make is that as a recovering perfectionist (I've recognized I have a problem and am trying to overcome), I am going to add 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) to my bag of mantras. We are not supposed to be perfect. If that was actually attainable, a Christian with no weakness, then there wouldn't be room for the Lord in our lives. And I don't know about you, but put that way I would rather embrace my weaknesses than live without the Lord's strength.

Honestly, this has been a paradigm shift for me. Hope it helps you in your journey.

To me, this picture is just one illustration of the beauty and wonder of the Lord.
