Breaking a Record

Yesterday's LOAD was done in under 30 minutes. This is not something that happens often but last night was necessary. I had only 20 minutes before I needed to put Garrett to bed & knew I wouldn't scrap afterwards because Mitch & I had a date to watch Flashforward.

I really want to make fast pages, that I love, more often. Here is what I think worked last night.

First, I pulled a picture from my storage binders that tugged at my heart. This has been a favorite of mine since I printed it last year.

Then, I decided on a non traditional size. I didn't want a full 12x12 because that would have required printing an enlargement in order to keep the focus on the picture. So, I went with an 8x8. This is one of my new favorite sizes because I work with the square shape of the 12x12 but not all the space.

Finally, I limited myself to a few products. Less product, less choice, less time. Right? I used a piece of cardstock that was a scrap on my table from yesterday's layout, patterned paper from my Studio Calico Kit Cotillion, American Crafts Stickers & Precision Pen.

I'm not going to beat myself up on the lack of journaling because sometimes, the picture speaks for itself. I think it does here.

Awesome layout. Don't tell anyone it was done in under 30 and they would never know it.

Monica - that's a GREAT Layout! I really admire how you are able to scrap so much and work and be a mom - i just can't find the time or the energy most days. . .although about 2p each afternoon when i'm at work - i get the urge to create. . .LOL
