On this 31st Birthday

I wanted to reflect on a few things I've learned along the way.

Here they are in no particular order.

1. You can do the dishes in the time it takes a pot of coffee to brew.
2. Sometimes the best thing is just to walk away.
3. There is a power that comes from visualizing your goals.
4. You change, people change.
5. If you’ve let the clothes sit in the dryer too long stick a soaking wet towel in and run it again.
6. The key to a great turkey is frequent basting and generous seasoning.
7. Walk with a smile on your face it can change both yours and a strangers day.
8. When you speak to someone look them in the eye.
9. There is always time for love.
10. Acknowledge both your strengths and weaknesses.
11. The Dyson is a fantastic vacuum for a house full of animals and worth the money.
12. I am best when I am busy.
13. Marriage is not always easy; be sure to marry your best friend.
14. You earn the trust of others when you are able to admit that you don’t always have the answer.
15. Apologize with sincerity. Ask for forgiveness.
16. Give of yourself both time & materials freely.
17. A clean home sets the stage for a peaceful evening.
18. Always know where your children are and what they are doing.
19. Don’t eat too many tomatoes, pickles or grapefruit because they can wear away the enamel on your teeth.
20. Keep playing.
21. I am an artist.
22. You don’t want to be perfect; that leaves no room for the Lord.
23. Jesus Christ is our Savior.
24. Being a mother is the best thing I’ve ever done.
25. Count your blessings big & small.
26. Open your heart & home to those you love.
27. Carry joy with you. Laugh often & loudly.
28. Listen.
29. Treat others with respect. Say Please & Thank You to everyone who makes your day a little easier.
30. When a parent trust your instincts.
31. Love yourself.

PS - Couple things I learned along the way: don't prioritize your schedule, schedule your priorities, don't marry the one you can live with - marry the one you can't live without, BE STILL and know that He is God.
